A playful inquiry - into our societal fear of aging, ideas of what should be accomplished by a certain age and what is truly needed to “age well.” Interactive and inviting creative communication between the viewer and the exhibited humans, this piece illuminates the collective Self and the cultural soma. Both dance, theatre and neither, this performance is living art - embodied exploration. Humans over 40 on display in their “natural habitat!”

Growing up in a doomsday cult that forbids sex might be a problem for people with a body, but great material for a 60-minute show. “The Chair on the Door,” a multi-sensory storytelling show, is the often funny, sometimes death-defying journey of Travis Abels, who explores his collision points between faith, sex and family, through a unique blend of heartfelt tales and award-winning sound design, with an uplifting message about the value of facing your monsters.

“Old Man” is a depiction of the story of an immigrant man preparing all his life for the American Dream and ultimately surrendering to destiny, as told by his daughter. This story is dedicated to my father, a strong, patient man who has been looking for a big fish all his life. He passed away in December 2019.

Angels at the Curtain Call is a performance/story piece, about a love affair with theatre. It is a 55 year journey which culminates in forgiveness, love, and change.

Listen closely and you’ll find a combination of relatable and devastating tales, intricate but attainable tunes and pop culture references through the years. Music Is Dumb is a collaborative contemporary percussion album that exhibits the broad range of simple and complex emotions that music can evoke. Music can cause feelings of disgust, relief, surprise, or confusion. Perhaps it can maybe just be DUMB. Music Is Dumb will be presented as a combination of pre-recorded music videos and live performances that will coincide with the release of the album worldwide.
