Balladir is a band! We perform sarcastic chamber folk of the past and present. Future-folk, anti-folk, nerd-folk, and sub-aquatic-anti-future folk. We use strings, bows, drums, reeds, bellows, and voices both bellowed and subtle. We croon and caterwaul about elven umbrellas, astrologically inclined fish, and multiple historical Scots revelers named Tom. We use puppets, when we can catch them.

The project is orchestrated by Travis Puntarelli, who grew up and studied in the fringe-suburbs of Bloomington, Indiana, who transferred to SOU in 2022 after changing majors 6 times, who graduated in April of 2024 and who is returning to his home land of puppets, parades, and harlequin prose (after all these years of colleging) with new songs and more cynicism. He has produced a bizarre cache of puppet and stage shows over the past years, and is looking forward to lighting them (the puppets) on fire at the end of the run.
