2018 FESTIVAL PRODUCERS
Jared is an avid performer and composer specializing in interdisciplinary collaboration and improvisation.
A proponent of aesthetic exploration in contemporary performance, Jared earned his Master of Music at Southern Oregon University and his Bachelor of Music at the University of Nebraska, Omaha.
This is his second year on the Oregon Fringe Festival Production Team, and the first year as the Festival Curator.
John Alan is a Senior at Southern Oregon University studying Theatre with a BFA in Performance.
He enjoys telling stories, Mr. Roger's cardigans, juggling baseballs, and feminism. He's incredibly excited to help elevate and put on all of the wild stories that will be told for this year's festival and to be part of such an excellent team of storytellers.
One moment, one experience, one sublime afternoon can tilt your destiny. For Dr. David R. Humphrey, it was a sixth-grade field trip to a soon-to-be-demolished movie house, where 100 St. Petersburg Symphony musicians inspired him to pursue a lifelong career in the performing arts. After earning his bachelor of music education and certificate in flute at Florida State University, Humphrey completed a master of music education and educational administration the next year, swiftly followed by a PhD in opera production/music education.
David has been with OFF since its beginning!
I’m Paige Gerhard, and I’m a senior in the B.F.A. Program majoring in both Art and Elementary Education. In addition to being the Visual Arts Producer for Fringe, I am also the Gallery Director for the CVA Galleries on campus.
I absolutely love when artists collaborate with one another, so I cannot wait to see all of the unique and amazing artwork at this year’s festival!
My name is Madeline Scannell and I am the Oregon Fringe Festival's Marketing Director. Currently, I am a senior studying in Southern Oregon University's Business Marketing program, while also holding a minor in General Studio Art. I have worked in the gallery and museum industry for over three years now, examining business within the arts. This will be my second year working on the OFF team, and I am ecstatic to apply knowledge from last year's festival into this year. We are excited to bring you both visual and performing arts with a Fringe-twist! At the Oregon Fringe Festival, creativity knows no bounds.
My name is Shannon Stewart and I am on the production team for the 2018 Oregon Fringe Festival. I am a second year theatre student here at Southern Oregon University. My favorite part about theatre is the mass opportunity it gives for creative growth as well as widening the audience's cultural perspective; Fringe is the best place to do this! It gives the chance for artists to dip their toes into other fields of art to tell their own story. It challenges people to not think in the norms of any field of art but to really think outside the box and try new things.
Drew Wright is a percussion performer currently enrolled as a graduate student in SOU's Masters in Music Program.
This is his second year working with the Oregon Fringe Festival.
Jesse Purkerson holds the position of Staff & Adjunct Faculty for Technical Direction in SOU's Theater Program.
This is Jesse's second year working with the Oregon Fringe Festival as a faculty advisor and tech-production extraordinare!
Hannah Bakken graduated from SOU with a BFA in Studio Art in 2017. During her time in Ashland she held the position of CVA Gallery Director.
She is now a MFA in Print Media Candidate at the Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland, Oregon where she is using printed works, video performance, and photography to explore the identity of the American West.
This will be the third year Hannah has helped the production of the Oregon Fringe Festival -- prior to this year she has helped with the visual arts, design, website admin, and more.
